Cultural wellbeing. Dune by C.O.D.E. is an integral part of the spatial experience dedicated to knowledge.

In the heart of the Saint-Denis campus, the Paris 8 University Library is one of the university’s main spaces dedicated to study and research, a contemporary environment designed to welcome students, researchers and visitors in a setting open to knowledge. Here, architecture, culture and study time coexist in a balance created to encourage concentration and reflection.
Within this vision of academic space, even moments of pause take on a design value. For the library’s relaxation area, Paris 8 University Library selected Dune, the design chaise longue by C.O.D.E., conceived to offer a discreet and natural comfort experience. An element that interprets wellbeing as an integral part of the time devoted to reading, study and mental regeneration.
The philosophy of C.O.D.E. aligns naturally with the vision of the Paris 8 University Library. For C.O.D.E., wellbeing is not limited to spa rituals or dedicated wellness environments, but is rooted in a design approach that places the individual at the centre. Listening, design culture and meticulous attention to detail become essential tools for creating spaces that welcome without imposing themselves.
The integration of elements dedicated to relaxation reflects a shared awareness of the importance of time and spatial quality, even within a public and academic context.

For the Paris 8 University Library, Dune was selected — the design chaise longue by C.O.D.E., created by Laurent Malbert, presented in the refined Sunbrella Blue Storm finish. Inspired by the soft and continuous shapes of the Dune du Pilat, Dune interprets relaxation as a fluid and natural experience.
Its enveloping geometry supports the body in a spontaneous way, offering deep and balanced comfort, ideal for moments of reading and mental decompression. The choice of Sunbrella Blue Storm fabric introduces a strong yet balanced chromatic note, capable of dialoguing with the contemporary architecture of the library while ensuring long-term durability even in high-traffic environments.
Ergonomics, material quality and refined craftsmanship make Dune a chaise longue perfectly integrated within the space — not merely as a decorative element, but as an active part of the daily experience.
